Rooted

Jesus said a lot of things that go against our human tendencies. “Love your enemies.” “Seek the lowest place.” “Blessed are the meek.” These go against our human desire for position and power, and most people in the church agree with these sentiments. But He said some things that go against even some long-held opinions in the church. One of those sayings is Jesus’ parable about the mustard seed.

We tend to believe that, in order to see a move of God, we need some dramatic display of faith. We think that the bigger our faith is, the bigger God’s response must be. But Jesus’ parable tells us a very different story. In fact, He said that all you need is faith like a mustard seed in order to see God move.
