Jesus’ most frequent opponents were not the everyday people He interacted with, but the religious officials of His day: the Pharisees and the Sadducees. These groups of men were so committed to maintaining their way of life that they not only missed, but actively opposed the very Messiah they were waiting on! It is to this religious spirit that Jesus spoke directly. What can His interactions with these men teach us about dealing with a religious spirit today?
