Justified
Jesus dealt with a lot of people who thought they were somehow better than those around them. These were the people who opposed Him the strongest, and Jesus took an interesting approach to dealing with them. Sometimes He addressed them directly, but other times, He told stories to get their attention.
One such story is found in Luke chapter 18: the story of the Pharisee and the Publican. We’ve all met people like the Pharisee in this story, and they tend to make us question ourselves. In fact, in a lot of cases, the actions of these self-righteous people may seriously impact our self worth. But we’re not immune to this sort of thinking ourselves, and if we’re not careful, we may end up being the unintentional subject of this parable.
