As we continue our study of the book of Daniel, we come to chapter 5. By this point in the story, King Nebuchadnezzar has died, and his descendent, King Belshazzar, has taken the throne. Belshazzar is a proud, ignorant king, and, in the face of assured destruction at the hand of the Medes and Persians, throws a lavish party. In this middle of this party, the very hand of God comes down and writes a warning to the foolish ruler, and only Daniel is able to interpret it.
